On fashion’s biggest night, these celebrities proved to us exactly why Fashion is Art.
By Shannon Sim,
The 2026 Met Gala is finally here, and of course our fave celebs came to serve looks. With this year’s theme being “Costume Art” and the dress code of “Fashion is Art”, some referenced and recreated art pieces, while others toyed with both the dress code and theme – but overall it’s safe to say that the looks definitely didn’t disappoint. Scroll on for some of the best celebrity outfits from the 2026 Met Gala that we’re absolutely obsessing over.
1. Beyonce
Making her Met Gala return after a decade, Queen Bey proved to us exactly why she’s still that girl. The 2026 Met Gala co-chair arrived in a stunning custom Olivier Rousteing gown that featured a sparkly skeletal system and a matching headpiece. The showstopper? Her grey feathered train which trailed down an entire flight of stairs.
2. Lisa
This year’s Met Gala was all about the relationship between fashion, art and the body and Lisa definitely understood the assignment. The Blackpink superstar arrived in a custom all-white Robert Wun gown that featured 3D sculpted hands holding up her sheer veil – talk about a moment.
3. Emma Chamberlain
One of the firsts to always show up on the carpet each year is Emma Chamberlain, who set the standard high this year as she appeared in a custom hand-painted Mugler gown that looked almost like a melting watercolour painting. The artsy look – inspired by Van Gogh paintings – featured a mix of colours and a figure-hugging bodice.
4. Eileen Gu
Inspired by the atomic anatomy of the human body, our neuroplasticity queen and Winter Olympics star Eileen Gu literally blew us away in this gorgeous gown by Iris Van Herpen. The dress featured 15,000 hand-formed iridescent glass bubbles and also blew out bubbles as she ascended the steps of the Met.
5. Rihanna
Arriving fashionably late hand-in-hand with her boo, the Queen of the Met wore a metallic Margiela Couture statement piece from the Fall Winter 2025 collection that was encrusted with jewels.
6. Sabrina Carpenter
Fresh off headlining Coachella 2026, Sabrina Carpenter arrived in a custom Dior tulle slit dress wrapped in rhinestone film strips and a bejewelled headpiece. The film she referenced? None other than Audrey Hepburn’s 1954 romantic comedy Sabrina.
7. Hudson Williams
It-boy of the moment Hudson Williams definitely brought his A-game for his Met Gala debut. The custom Balenciaga suit was inspired by a 1947 Cristobal Balenciaga evening bolero and featured a light blue collar jacket, matching pants and a flowing train. But what truly caught our eye was the bold Black Swan-inspired makeup look, courtesy of his groomer Aika Flores.
8. Connor Storrie
From serving plates just a year ago to serving looks on the steps of the Met today, golden boy Connor Storrie looked exceptional in a black-and-white Saint Laurent ensemble. The look featured a polka-dot turtleneck top which extended into a flowing train, with a Tiffany and Co brooch pinned to the collar.
9. Hunter Schafer
Euphoria darling Hunter Schafer really said Fashion is Art. Inspired by Gustav Klimt’s Mada Primavesi painting, the actress wore a custom Prada linen gown that served cottagecore glamour.
10. SZA
You can always trust SZA to shine in any room she steps into. At the 2026 Met Gala, the singer wore a golden yellow Bode gown that showed off a sheer butterfly cape when she lifted her arms. With her dazzling corset dress and dramatic floral headpiece, it’s safe to say this look was definitely one for the books.
11. Jisoo
Blackpink’s Jisoo showed up to her first Met sparkling in a pink Dior column dress. The look featured an entirely embroidered garden scene complete with trimmed floral bouquets and a matching headpiece.
12. Kylie Jenner
Kylie Jenner is no stranger to the Met Gala, but she somehow continues to outdo herself each year. This time, the beauty mogul showed up in a nude Schiaparelli corset with a silk skirt reminiscent of an undone dress.
13. Asap Rocky
From what we’ve seen at the 2026 Chanel Cruise show and now at the Met Gala, it seems like Asap Rocky is a big fan of pink – and we’re loving it. The rapper looked suave in a soft pink Chanel trench suit which he accessorised with tons of statement jewellery and an eye-catching Chanel pomegranate bag.
14. Anne Hathaway
The Devil Wears Prada star shows no signs of stopping. Coming straight off the film’s press tour, Anne Hathaway wore a hand-painted Michael Kors gown and Roger Vivier heels for the Met Gala 2026.
15. Anok Yai
While many wore looks that referenced artworks, the 2025 Model of the Year transformed herself into one. Taking inspiration from the Black Madonna, Anok Yai wore a custom all-black Balenciaga gown with a voluminous hood and skirt. Take a closer look and you’ll see her bronzed makeup look with tears streaming down her face – making her appear exactly like a statue.
16. Naomi Osaka
Tennis superstar Naomi Osaka turned heads in a dramatic Robert Wun gown at the 2026 Met Gala. She initially stepped onto the carpet in an all-white dress and quickly unveiled the all-red human anatomy-inspired look underneath as she reached the top of the steps – it’s a dual look moment that had our jaws on the floor.
17. Jennie
We’re absolutely rockin’ with Jennie’s blue gown. The Blackpink popstar looked sweet in this shimmering Chanel dress that featured a whopping 15,000 sequins, further accessorised with elegant Chanel jewellery.
18. Teyana Taylor
You can always count on Teyana Taylor to give us a dramatic red carpet moment. At the 2026 Met Gala, the star wore a fully-fringed custom Tom Ford look as she shimmied up the steps dripping in silver.
19. Rose
Rounding out the Blackpink appearances at this year’s Met is Rose who looked divine in a black Saint Laurent gown complete with an oversized bird brooch at the hip.
20. Janelle Monae
If there’s one person who’s going to be exactly on theme each year, it’s Janelle Monae. Adding to her long list of exceptional Met Gala outfits, the singer married tech, art and theatrics with this Christian Siriano gown that featured fluttering animatronic butterflies.
